Stephanie Fitzpatrick
Owner, President, Content Creator

An educator with 17 years of elementary education experience, Stephanie was a fifth and third grade teacher before becoming a school administrator.  As an elementary school assistant principal for 10 years, she spent a decade working directly with teachers and librarians to ensure that today's best books are in the hands of our kids.  With experience aligning instruction to standards and supporting teachers in planning engaging and challenging lessons, and in her current role as a full-time educational consultant and curricular-content designer, you can be confident that the materials she designs are what's meant for today's elementary classrooms.

Stephanie has an MST in Elementary Education from Pace University and an EdM in Educational Leadership from Teachers College Columbia University.  A writer in her spare time, she is a member of The Writing Barn's Courage to Create Community, Julie Hedlund's 12x12 Picture Book Challenge and SCBWI. As a child and teenager, she spent every Saturday with her mom at Barnes and Noble in Bayside, NY and was an avid reader of Gertrude Chandler Warner's The Boxcar Children series.

What is a Classroom Companion?

The "Classroom Companion" is a slide deck prepared by Stephanie at The Book Links.  The slide deck is ready to use with students during a read aloud and designed to include engaging standards-aligned activities, higher order thinking (HOT)

questions and quality assessments.

All activities and materials are currently aligned to national Common Core Learning Standards, New York State's Next Generation standards, Texas TEKS standards and/or Virginia's VDOE standards.  Each activity has been creatively designed to align with literacy, math, science, social studies, art and/or computer science.
