What is The Book Links' Classroom Companion?
The "Classroom Companion" is a ready-to-use slide deck that can be shared with students before, during, and after a read-aloud. It is designed to include engaging standards-aligned activities, higher-order thinking (HOT) questions, and quality assessments.
All activities and materials are currently aligned to national Common Core Learning Standards, and in some cases, New York State's Next Generation standards, Texas TEKS standards Virginia's VDOE standards, or other states based on the author's location and preference. Each activity has been creatively designed to align with literacy, math, science, social studies, art and/or computer science.
What is The Book Links' Author Visit Directory?
The Author Visit Directory is a carefully curated collection of reputable children’s authors who are eager to connect with schools and libraries. It makes it easy for educators to find and book trusted authors for virtual or in-person visits that bring stories to life and inspire young readers.
Authors listed in the directory benefit from increased visibility with schools, plus access to tailored support from The Book Links—like help creating custom classroom resources and visit presentations—so every visit is engaging and meaningful.
