The Book Links LLC!
The Book Links LLC is the place for children's authors to work with an educator and design curricular materials for their books. All activities and materials are currently aligned to national Common Core Learning Standards, New York State's Next Generation standards and/or Texas TEKS standards. Each "Classroom Companion" is a slide deck ready to use with students during a read aloud and each supplemental activity has been creatively designed to align with literacy, math, science, social studies, art and/or computer science.
Things to Know about our Resources
Standards-Aligned Materials
About half of the states in the U.S.A. are continuing to use the Common Core Learning Standards, while several have revised and renamed them. For example, New York has adopted the Next Generation Standards and Texas uses TEKS standards. All materials designed by The Book Links thus far have been aligned to CCLS, Next Gen and/or TEKS, but can be written to match state-specific standards if necessary. As an author, you have written your book and gotten it ready for kids, teachers, librarians and parents to read. Now let The Book Links design curricular materials that are accessible with the click of a button (on this website and for your author site too!). All a teacher has to do is click on the link, make a copy of the Classroom Companion slide deck or print out the PDF materials, and they are ready to use them with students.
Today's teachers are evaluated using various systems and rubrics, but every educator needs engaging standards-aligned activities, higher order thinking (HOT) questions and quality assessments. The materials designed by The Book Links will hit all of these components and more!
